Numbness / Tingling
Numbness and tingling sensations generally occur in the arms, legs and joints. In the majority of cases this type of neurological disturbance is a result of impaired blood and nerve circulation as a result of compression of spinal nerves or localized nerves that are being torsioned by tight connective tissue or fascia. Chiropractic spinal and soft tissue manipulation is a logical first step to see if numbness and tingling can be relieved.
Metabolic disorders such as diabetes can cause numbness, as well as pathology such as tumors, and after-effects of stroke. Patient history helps to rule out those more serious causes of numbness and tingling.
