Natural Treatment For Arthritis
Arthritis
Of the many different types of arthritis, the most common type is degenerative or osteoarthritis. This is the type of arthritis seen in the older patient as the joints “wear out”. It is common, however, to see the beginning of osteoarthritis much younger in life, in the forties. Institutional medicine does not really have any approach to prevention of common arthritis, and struggles with managing the painful symptoms of swelling and inflammation by the use of anti-inflammatory drugs. Through the use of nutritional supplementation, dietary and lifestyle changes, healing herbs, spinal and soft tissue manipulation to improve blood and nerve supply, and neuro-emotional therapies, considerable reduction of pain or complete elimination can often be accomplished, and if caught early on may largely be arrested.
There are other more serious types of arthritis such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and others that are caused by immune system dysfunction that causes the body to attack its own joints. These types of arthritis often have systemic effects on not only the joints but also the internal organs. In the last decade especially, leading health professionals have seen a strong correlation between the health of intestinal flora and the onset and aggravation of metabolic arthritides such as those mentioned above.
At Davis Holistic Chiropractic Center numerous supportive herbal and nutritional therapies are employed to help restore metabolic balance and improve intestinal flora strength. Detoxification procedures and the ionic footbath help the body rid toxins through stimulating increased lymphatic circulation and drainage. That can help reduce the tissue inflammation and pain of arthritis. Structural balancing with applied kinesiology procedures and spinal and soft tissue manipulation can bring further normalization and reduction or elimination of symptoms.
